16 September, 2025: World Identity Day, PODA conducted a Political Rights Awareness Session for women in Khayber, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The activity was part of the Rural Women’s Network for Civic Leadership and Participation Project, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and linked with Democracy Day. The session was led by Ms. Shenaz Alam Afridi, a PODA Rural Women Leader and member of DIWA, with 46 participants from the community. She gave practical training on the voting process to help women and youth learn how to cast their votes correctly and to encourage women to increase their participation in democratic processes.

During the session, six women with expired CNICs were guided on how to renew their CNICs. Ms. Shenaz also explained the importance of having a valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), which is needed not only for voting but also for getting education, opening bank accounts, and receiving government benefits.
