Potohar Organization for Development Advocacy (PODA) are collaborating in a project that aims to improve school readiness, early learning outcomes, and child well-being among vulnerable children in underserved communities by combining play-based learning, nutrition support, and community engagement. Through the establishment of community-based early stimulation centers and strengthened primary education systems, the initiative seeks to provide children with a strong foundation for lifelong learning and development.
PODA brings extensive expertise in community mobilization, women’s leadership, and innovative early childhood education models developed through years of work with rural communities across Pakistan. Drawing on its experience in training rural women teachers, mothers, and community members, PODA will support the delivery of responsive caregiving practices, positive parenting approaches, and child-centered learning methodologies. The organization’s proven model integrates practical, community-based learning with early childhood development, ensuring that families, educators, and local stakeholders play an active role in nurturing children’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
As a result of PODA’s expertise, the project aims to create sustainable, community-owned systems that support young children’s development beyond the life of the program. Parents and caregivers will be empowered with the knowledge and tools needed to provide nurturing care and early stimulation at home, while teachers and community institutions will be equipped to deliver quality early learning opportunities. The anticipated outcome is improved school readiness, stronger foundational literacy and numeracy skills, increased caregiver engagement, and enhanced community capacity to promote child development, health, nutrition and safeguarding practices for future generations.
