Thursday, September 11, 2025: In a joint humanitarian effort, the Potohar Organization for Development Advocacy (PODA) and Ittehad Foundation, Kasur, have launched child and women-friendly spaces in the flood-affected village of Rajian Wala, Kasur. The initiative aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for women and children recovering from the recent floods.

As part of the relief efforts, both organizations distributed cash assistance to affected families, with a focus on supporting women so they can address their needs based on household priorities.

To help children continue learning after the floods, PODA provided books and learning materials to families. Facilitators from Ittehad Foundation sat with the children, reading storybooks and engaging them in fun, story-based activities.

Led by PODA Executive Director Sameena Nazir, the team—including Bakhtawar Bashir, Asli Saeed, and Nabeela Aslam—worked in close coordination with Ittehad Foundation volunteers to establish the friendly spaces and distribute aid.

Irshad Safdar, CEO of Ittehad Foundation, expressed her solidarity with flood-affected families and emphasized the need for collaborative, gender-sensitive disaster response initiatives.
