PODA will celebrate ‘International Day of World’s Indigenous Peoples’ on Friday, 09th August, 2019 from 06:00p.m. to 08:00p.m. The event will be held at Theatre Wallay, The Farm, Bani Gala, Islamabad.
The event will include dances for representation of indigenous peoples of Pakistan. There will be informative presentations by guest speakers, including indigenous peoples of Pakistan.
International Day of World’s Indigenous Peoples is celebrated to exercise not only Human Rights but more importantly Minority Rights. It is a platform for freedom of expression in terms of speech, language, music, dance, art, clothes, way of life – and most of all – of ‘being represented’. It is a day to celebrate diversity and to acknowledge and appreciate culture and traditions of people who have been living around since centuries.
