PODA under it’s project “Reduce Early Marriages to Enhance Gender Equality” with its partner organization of Girl Guides Association, Punjab celebrated the “World Thinking Day” focused on “Our World, Our Thriving Future” which falls every year on 22nd February, The event was held at Girl Guides House, Sargodha. Renowned academician, Irshad Fazal graced the occasion and urged the young girls to lead a dignified life whose path is determined achieving higher education. Project Manager also highlighted the issue of child marriages. “This is violation of the children’s rights as it deprives them of their basic rights including right to education, health and utilize their capabilities to the fullest as human beings,” she said. The girl guides reiterates their pledge to serve humanity. Junior and senior girl guides received awards for their remarkable performances. Senior girl guides, Ms. Sughra and PODA Rural Woman Leader, Qaisara Ismail spoke on the occasion and emphasised on the importance of education.
