Chiniot Schoolgirls Highlight Rights and Awareness Through Art During 16 Days of Activism Campaign Against GBV
Wednesday, 12 November 2025: As part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, Potohar Organization for Development Advocacy (PODA), in collaboration with the District Population Welfare Office, organized a poster and drawing competition at Government Girls High School Madrassah Tul Banat. Students from various classes participated enthusiastically, expressing important social messages through colors and creative ideas in their artwork.
Muneeba Riaz secured 1st position, Syeda Noor Fatima stood 2nd, and Rida Umair achieved 3rd position in the competition. The school management appreciated the initiative for giving girl students an opportunity to express their understanding of key issues, including girls’ right to education and dignity, the importance of obtaining an identity card, environmental protection through plantation, menstrual hygiene management, leadership, online safety, and Article 25-A of the Constitution.
The competition was facilitated by Sana Rehman, District Population Welfare Officer, Chiniot, who encouraged the students by saying, “Be the kind of woman you want your daughter to become.”
This activity is part of a three-year project, Reduce Early Marriages to Enhance Gender Equality, supported by the Norwegian Embassy in Islamabad, which will conclude at the end of this month. Through such initiatives, PODA and its partners aim to empower girls to speak up, take leadership, and raise awareness on their rights and social issues from an early age.
