PODA Pakistan celebrated International Youth Day (12 August) with special awareness sessions in collaboration with NADRA. These activities were part of the Rural Women’s Network for Civic Leadership and Participation project, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The aim was to help young people understand the importance of legal identity documents and to encourage them to participate in civic life.
The campaign was held in five districts from 16 Saturday to 19 Tuesday, August, by trained focal persons from PODA Rural Women Leaders and members of the District Information Women Alliance (DIWA), including Ms. Zainab in Sibi, Ms. Shemim Akhtar in Lahore, Ms. Kashmala in Hyderabad, Ms. Amtul in Karachi, and Ms. Saira Lashri in Shaheed Banazirabad.
Sessions took place in schools, colleges, and vocational centres, with more than 250 participants. Guest speakers from NADRA explained the importance of documents like CNIC B-Forms and Birth Certificates. Students participated in creative and hands-on activities, including designing posters to share their ideas about legal identity.
