10 December, PODA Pakistan organized an awareness session on the importance of legal identity as part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign under the Rural Women’s Network for Civic Leadership and Participation Project, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The activity was held at Edwards Public School, Kohat.
The session was led by Ms. Fatima Zahid, PODA Rural Women Leader, with 25 participants. She explained the essential role of the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) in a girl’s life, highlighting that it is required for accessing education, opening bank accounts, voting, and obtaining government services and welfare schemes. The session aimed to empower young girls by increasing their awareness about their rights and the importance of legal identity for meaningful participation in society.
