On 10 December, PODA Pakistan organized an awareness session on the importance of legal identity as part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign under the Rural Women’s Network for Civic Leadership and Participation Project, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The activity was held at Zavia Public High School, Loralai, Balochistan.

The session was led by Ms. Suraiya, PODA Rural Women Leader, with participation from 40 students. She highlighted the essential role of the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) in a girl’s life, explaining that it is necessary for accessing education, opening bank accounts, voting, and availing various government services and welfare schemes. The session aimed to empower young girls by raising awareness about their rights and the importance of legal identity for meaningful participation in society.
