Tuesday, 9 December, 2025: PODA Pakistan organized an awareness session on the importance of legal identity as part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign under the Rural Women’s Network for Civic Leadership and Participation Project, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The activity was conducted in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The session was led by Ms. Robina Akber, PODA Rural Women Leader, with 44 participants. She explained the essential role of the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) in a girl’s life, highlighting that it is required for accessing education, opening bank accounts, voting, and availing government services and welfare schemes. The session aimed to empower women and girls by increasing their awareness about their rights and the importance of legal identity for active participation in society.
