One-day workshop on Conflict Resolution at PODA Nara Mughlan Office
15 November, 2025: A one-day workshop on Conflict Resolution was held at PODA Nara Mughlan, organized in collaboration with Horizontal PARADIGM as the knowledge partner. The training was facilitated by Ms. Hira Imam and Mr. Ahmad Hussain Badar, both of whom provided in-depth guidance on understanding the nature of conflicts, the psychological factors that lead to escalation, and the importance of early intervention in preventing misunderstandings from turning into major disputes.
The facilitators explained key principles of conflict resolution, such as active listening, empathy, respect for diverse opinions, and maintaining a problem-solving mindset. They also discussed step-by-step conflict-resolution models, including identifying the root cause, exploring perspectives of all parties, generating mutually beneficial options, and agreeing on practical solutions. Various practical techniques—such as non-violent communication, negotiation strategies, and mediation approaches—were demonstrated to help participants handle real-life workplace disagreements more effectively.
As part of the workshop, interactive group exercises were conducted in which participants analyzed workplace scenarios, highlighted existing challenges, and proposed solutions. Each group later presented their findings and recommendations, which encouraged collaborative thinking and collective learning.
During the open discussion session, teachers, farm staff, and Sui Dhaaga staff also shared their concerns and complaints regarding communication gaps, workload misunderstandings, and interpersonal issues that had caused friction in daily work activities. Their participation helped highlight real challenges faced within the organization and provided valuable insights for improving teamwork, trust, and coordination between different departments.
The PODA team collectively agreed that any existing conflicts among staff members should come to an end after this training. They pledged to maintain a culture of mutual support, cooperation, and respectful communication to ensure a more harmonious working environment.
At the end of the session, certificates were distributed to all participants in recognition of their engagement and commitment. Overall, the workshop proved to be highly productive, significantly enhancing the team’s capacity to identify, manage, and resolve conflicts in a positive, constructive, and professional manner.
