2nd October2025: The PODA team carried out a follow-up visit to the flood-affected areas of District Buner, including Pir Baba and Beshonai villages, to assess the impact of earlier humanitarian assistance and identify ongoing recovery needs.
During the visit, the PODA team met with community members particularly women and families who had previously received women’s hygiene kits, clothing, and essential items to understand how these interventions have supported their recovery and well-being. The team also reviewed progress on plans to establish Women- and Child-Friendly Spaces aimed at providing safe, inclusive and supportive environments for women and children.
The PODA representatives met with Assistant Commissioner Buner, Mr. Nasir Ali Khan, to discuss follow-up actions related to PODA’s humanitarian response to the recent flash floods. Both sides exchanged ideas on designing spaces that offer women the opportunity to voice their concerns in safety and dignity, while enabling children to engage in play, learning and emotional healing.
PODA continues its commitment to empowering disaster-affected communities by equipping these spaces with books, toys, hygiene kits, and IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials, reinforcing efforts toward resilience, recovery, and protection for women and children in Buner.
