On 19 September 2025, PODA organized a Political Rights Awareness Session and Mock Polling at the Pak Institute of Medical Sciences, (PIMS) Kohat, under the Rural Women’s Network for Civic Leadership and Participation Project, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), in collaboration with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The session was led by Ms. Fatima Zahid, PODA Rural Women Leader, and attended by 50 participants, including female students, teachers, and ECP staff. She highlighted the importance of women knowing their political rights and exercising their right to vote.
District Election Commissioner Anwar Iqbal and Assistant Director Abdul Wakil, Chief Guest of the event, emphasized that democracy and national development are incomplete without voting, which is not only a basic right but also the most effective way to deliver people’s voice to parliament. Participants were also given practical training on how to correctly cast their votes, enabling them to fully engage in the electoral process. The DEC assured that the Election Commission of Pakistan will continue such awareness programs to guide and encourage women to use their votes.
