On 17 September 2025, PODA organized a Political Rights Awareness Session and Mock Polling at Sheikhupura, Punjab under the Rural Women’s Network for Civic Leadership and Participation Project, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), in collaboration with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The session was led by Ms. Imrana Arooj, PODA Rural Women Leader, and attended by 50 participants. She highlighted the importance of women knowing their political rights and exercising their right to vote. District Election Commissioner Ms. Maham Qadri, Chief Guest of the event, emphasized that democracy and national development are incomplete without voting, which is not only a basic right but also the most effective way to deliver people’s voice to parliament.

Participants were also provided with practical training on how to cast their votes correctly, enabling them to fully engage in the electoral process. The session concluded with positive feedback, as participants described the program as informative and empowering, and expressed their commitment to exercising their right to vote in the upcoming elections.
