On Wednesday, 13 August 2025, PODA Pakistan celebrated International Youth Day (12 August) and Pakistan Independence Day (14 August) with special awareness sessions in collaboration with NADRA. These activities were part of the Rural Women’s Network for Civic Leadership and Participation project, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The aim was to help young people understand why legal identity documents are important and to encourage them to take part in civic life.

The campaign was held in eleven districts by trained focal persons from PODA Rural Women Leaders and members of the District Information Women Alliance (DIWA). The team included: Ms. Zahida in Sohbatpur (Balochistan); Ms. Shenaz Afridi in Khyber, Ms. Latifa Shah in Chitral, and Ms. Fayaz Kousar in Mardan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa); Ms. Rahila Ishaq in Okara, Ms. Shenaz Bibi in Rajanpur, Ms Saima  Batool in Vehari (Punjab); Ms. Abida Marvi in Badin, Ms. Farzana Mallah in Dadu, Ms. Sheherbano Aman in Khairpur, and Ms. Shaheen Akhtar in Thatta (Sindh).

Sessions took place in schools and colleges, with more than 550 students. Guest speakers from NADRA explained the importance of documents like CNIC B-Forms and Birth Certificates.

Students took part in creative and hands-on activities, such as designing posters to share their ideas about legal identity and planting trees to mark Independence Day. The tree plantation was a way to celebrate the day while also promoting growth, responsibility, and a cleaner, greener Pakistan.
