Potohar Organization for Development Advocacy PODA, under its Rural Women’s Network for Civic Leadership and Participation project funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), celebrated International Youth Day in collaboration with NADRA. The celebrations aimed to raise awareness among youth about the importance of legal identity documents and to encourage civic participation.
Activities were organised in nine districts by trained focal persons of PODA Rural Women Leaders and members of the District Information Women Alliance (DIWA). These included Ms. Humma Wahid in Hub (Balochistan); Ms. Kousar Bibi in Abbottabad; Ms. Ruksana Bibi in Charsadda; Ms. Gulshan Bibi in D.I. Khan; Ms. Kanwal in Mansehra; Ms. Ruksana Jahanaghir in Swat (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa); Ms. Sawera Noor in D.G. Khan; Ms. Imrana Arooj in Sheikhupura (Punjab); and Ms. Nosheen Sajjad in Jacobabad (Sindh).
The sessions were conducted in local schools, colleges, and vocational centers, engaging more than 412 students. Representatives and Guest Speakers from NADRA and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) joined these sessions and delivered informative talks on the significance of legal identity documents such as CNICs, B-Forms, and Birth Certificates, and the importance of vote. Students also actively participated in creative poster-making activities to visually express their learning.
In Charsadda, the event was further enhanced with the support of NADRA Mobile Registration Van (MRV), which provided on-the-spot services for students to apply for CNICs and B-Forms.
